Charles Skipwith Wine Consultancies
Charles and Lucie Skipwith live in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards. He has strong connections with the wine trade since his days at Chateau Margaux in the early 60's, and Lucie is a 'born and bred' Bordelaise. She now helps Charles in his selections as well as running their holiday business and maintaining the culinary standards that they achieved over twenty-one years in their Hampshire restaurant which was acclaimed by such publications as the Good Food Guide, Egon Ronay and Michelin, amongst others.

The Concept
It is my firm belief that the wines should reach your table at the best possible price and with a wide-ranging degree of research from someone who has a genuine love of all things vinous.
To this end, I feel that the 'Grand Sud-Ouest' region of France has hidden its light under a bushel for far too long. Here, the profound, tangy and intense wines are nurtured and brought to the imbiber at very competitive rates. They have lived in the shadow of the better-known growing regions and are now ready for the recognition that they justly deserve.
I do not wish to burden you with lengthy wine descriptions and leave you to dwell on the contents of your glass with just a few factual pointers to help.

A Potted History of my Wine Career
Back in the 1960s I had the good fortune to be taken under the wing of the Ginestet family in the village of Margaux in the Medoc. I first joined the family in the their home, Chateau Margaux, as a companion to their son, Jean-Francois which gave me many opportunities to meet important international guests at the dining table.
